First FvF portrait from New Zealand: Artist Judy Millar

We proudly present New Zealand on the FvF map. Through the sub-tropical gardens atop rugged coastline we take a tour of artist, Judy Millar’s, home and property of four acres outside Auckland on the West coast. As a local she grew up as the wild-child in a family of four, only later to embark on an artistic career that has seen her represent her country at the Venice Biennale and exhibit regularly internationally. 

Explore Judy’s home as she discusses how she has never lost the urge to roam in nature and return to boathouse on Freunde von Freunden.

In a writing class I took in college I wrote a story about a grown man who still slept with his female teddy bear, and the people in my workshop were like, “It’s great how you use the stuffed animal as a foil to showcase his fear of human intimacy" and I was like, you’re all such pretentious idiots, this is just a charming story about a man who loves his teddy, fuck you.
